What is Saratoga Peak Performance all about? It is about performance at any level and any age, male or female! Whether you are a top athlete, stay at home mom/dad, top executive, middle aged business person, couch potato, or a retired individual Saratoga Peak Performance will devise a physical, mental, and nutritional program for YOU! We want to have an impact in your life. Why should I commit to more than a few weeks of training? Our program is grounded in a philosophy of commitment! We offer short programs to introduce you to the benefits of training with us, but we firmly believe that 6-8 week programs only scratch the surface of your potential change. Positive daily habits effecting performance at all levels are the product of consistent training. What do your training sessions look like? We offer personal training sessions, but the bulk of our training is in small groups. Small groups bring out the best in people because each individual is responsible for themselves and their partners. They help, spot, and encourage their teammates to new levels of performance. How do you train athletes of different ages and abilities? Our programs are age appropriate and functionally progressed! Now what does that mean? A 7th grader will not train the same as a junior nor will the junior train like a college athlete. Programs and exercises progress according to the growth and development of each individual. Many exercises used in the college setting should never be used at the high school level because of injury potential! But...we also train functionally, that is to say when an athlete stays with us he or she may reach incredibly high levels of training in their junior and senior years of high school How do you determine the level to begin your training? We at Saratoga Peak Performance are movement specialists. We watch your movement, assess your training knowledge, and discuss your personal goals to determine the level you are ready for. What does your training consist of? The backbone of our training system is education. We want individuals to have the tools to pursue their personal goals once their time with us is over. Beyond that, we start with solid strength training! Speed, balance, and agility all build on that foundation, that's why individuals are functionally evaluated and a personal strength program is designed for them. We strength train with a variety of equipment including free-weights, machines, thera-balls, medicine balls, resistance bands and much more. We build on this base by straining in other disciplines such as plyometrics, vision, nutrition, mental exercises, speed, agility, balance, and fitness. Each discipline will progress an athlete functionally and educationally to ensure that the athlete has the skill and knowledge to reach their goals. Why is Saratoga Peak Performance so concerned with education? Education is empowerment! The better an individual understands the purpose and effects of their training the greater commitment they will develop. What about training during the season? Absolutely! I know many of you are concerned with the time commitment required by your team. Saratoga Peak Performance's yearly program is designed for flexibility. Come as little as one time per week to continually develop the skills needed to succeed. We do not want to take the place of your team training, but we also don't want you to lose the progress you've made. Your nutrition, flexibility, speed, and vision can all be continually developed. Do you believe in summer speed and strength camps? Yes! The manager of Saratoga Peak Performance, Dr. Bryan Briddell, runs summer camps at several school districts with great success. They provide large groups of athletes with the latest training techniques. Camps are a great way to introduce your son/daughter to training benefits. But don't wait for summer camps, begin your childs' training right now at the Saratoga Peak Performance and Athletic Training Center. What will the first appointment look like? You'll jump right in! Come prepared with shorts, t-shirt, and basketball or cross training shoes. A general strength workout will be prepared before class and we will begin to advance you from the very first movement we see! |
